Websites Developed(in a few cases designed) By Me!

I had started with Fiverr in February 2012 as a way to pass time and also get a little extra money. I had then got my Paypal account and got it verified. I was so excited the day I got the first $3.89 in my Paypal account(I started receiving orders the very same day as when I had created the gig)!

Today, I was just listing all the websites I have created, designed or developed for making a portfolio and I realized there was 38 websites! Around 4 websites per month!!

I could have probably taken a few more jobs, but I always stop working when I feel like my personal life is getting suffocated by work. Lets see whether I can reach 50 websites by February 2013.

Now for the update of the month:

I had last posted an update on October 19th about my earnings. You can visit that post via this link.

Since October 19th till today, October 31st, I have earned another $412.5

And before October 15th, my earning was $247 from all my income sources online.

So then, the total for this month is $789.5 rounding off to $789! Quite impressive but not to my satisfaction! :(

If you add my offline income from my day job of Rs 23500 in hand (after all the deductions), the total is $1240 approximately. Close but not there yet. However the goal is to reach the target via online income only!

The goal is at $1500.

So guys, any words? Use the comment to start a discussion. Everybody reading the post, what is the first thought that cam to your mind after you read this post?

Get .com Domains for Rs 173 only!

Do you want a domain? A .com domain is normally priced at Rs 699 if bought from GoDaddy. But they are running a limited offer for this month only.

You will get a .com domain for a year at only Rs 173. That includes the iCANN registration charge too!

And the offer doesn't end their.. you will get a .info domain for free!

So think of this as a Dussera offer and take full advantage of this! Here is the banner for the offer. Click and let us know in the comments which are the domains you have bought and what are you planning to do with them?

Tell Your story. Share Your Strength. $2.95 .COM from GoDaddy.com

Don't let this offer go away.. you'll regret it otherwise. The first step to a steady online income is to have your own web presence and for that you will need a website. A free hosting service is good but the domain should always be a TLD. So grab your domain today and take the first step to a passive income stream!

Google Analytics has really evolved!

Just now I was thinking about how to get a more detailed view of my traffic sources, so that I can optimize the links I put on different social sites. I remembered I had a Google Analytics account which I had stopped using after the time when the .co.cc domains were banned from Google. I had at that time reached the first page of Google for many keywords. I was getting around 1000 visitors only from Google using a .co.cc free domain that was only a couple of months old.

Google analytics and the need for it

So I logged in to the GA account and I was really surprised at the great new interface presented in front of me. It took me two minutes to get accustomed to where they had put all the options. It was intuitive, and I really liked a couple of features.

For example the Real-time visitor tracking was awesome!

So enough about that but what I am actually here to talk about is that every webmaster needs a Google Analytics account, or for that matter any of the analytics you are comfortable with works. Because you have to know where you are getting your customers from and from where you are not getting any traffic. After that strengthen the tactics from where you are already receiving traffic and look into why you are getting from the other sources. With a couple of trials and errors I am sure you'll get the hang of it!

Analytics tools are lifeline for a webmaster, because if you cannot optimize the sources of traffic then people will never actually reach your website and then the whole reason for creating the website is lost. You wouldn't wish that even for your enemies, right?

So those of you who have already created a website, go ahead and integrate GA into your website and you'll thank me someday!! ;)

A Floating Share bar

This one's just for my Blogger friends. You see all the nice floating "Share-bars" in blogs and have you ever wanted to add one to your own blog?

Well here it is!

I have added one on my blog and am just sharing the code so that you guys can get the same. I am posting this step by step so that it is easy to understand. But if you still have doubts, just ask via the Comments at the bottom of the post.

  1. Go to Blogger > Template
  2. Backup your template
  3. Click Edit HTML
  4. Click Proceed
  5. Then Click Expand Widget Templates
  6. Search for
 <b:includable id='post' var='post'>

     7.   Just below it paste the following code:

The Beginning of a Journey to be Remembered

So now that I have already decided to reach the $1500 mark, let's set a time frame. Say about 2 to 3 months. It will need some ass-kicking dedication and a lot of work. That said, I will now let you know what my current status is regarding online earnings.

MY CURRENT STATUS:
  1. Current online income: $400 to $500.
  2. Source of income: Freelancing as a Web-Developer.
  3. Passive income: $0.
So, I am already pulling in around $500 per month. But let's say, with the way the market is trending it will not be enough to keep me afloat! :D

Plan of action

Now here's the plan of action I have thought about:
  • Work as a freelancer.
  • Simultaneously polish up my PHP and Javascript
  • Start a new website for providing Wordpress development services.
  • Make a few videos for promoting and post them on Video sharing services (will also contribute to link building).
  • Start developing themes and sell them on different market places.
  • Start building a few web-based apps and sell them
So, what do you think about this plan of action?

Let me know what you think, or if you have a few suggestions through the comment section.
